Before I got my avatar disabled by Big Sister, I was sitting on millions of credits. You can’t easily cash out credits. If you’re in the creator program and signed up for receiving cash via PayPal, you can make cash from sales. But if you’re stuck with a load of credits you can’t spend, don’t try to sell them! Big Sister is watching, and she has algorithms to detect if you’re trying to sell credits. That’s how I got my account booted!
Here’s a better way to do it, and I did it successfully for years. If Big Sister finds out, she’ll find a way to close this loophole.
- If you don’t have a second account, create one.
- This will be the “cash account”. Sign up for VIP, then the creator program, then get enrolled in the cash sales program. (You’ll need to provide your real identity and sign a W-9).
- Create a new product (anything), set it to derivable, and set the profit to a whopping number. I used a 375,000 profit to extract about $125.
- Change your cash account’s settings in the Creator Program page so all sales are set to cash. It’s set to 100% credits by default, so change that.
- In your “credit account” (the one with all the credits), derive from the cash account’s derivable object. You’ll have to pay the derivation fee, plus Big Sister’s markup. It’s a good idea to set the product to Display Only so no one tries to buy your overpriced product unexpectedly. I’d make it invisible, too.
- Wait for two weeks until the transaction clears.
- Make a transfer to PayPal. This can take up to a week.
- Rinse and repeat at step 5.
